Formed in 1984, V.Ships is the leading supplier of independent ship management, manpower and related marine services to the global shipping industry. Currently V.Ships is the world´s largest provider of ship management services to a fleet of over 980 vessels encompassing most ship types. It is an international company with 68 offices located in 26 countries employing 1,600 office and 24,000 sea staff.

V.Ships’ core business lines are ship management and crewing services as well as pre-engagement services & in-house training for the seafarers in order to perfect skills & expertise of crew in accordance to high standards required by Labour World Market including latest requirements of international Conventions.

Manpower Management Services

The Manpower Management Services cluster encompasses the recruitment, deployment and management of deck and engine sea staff as well as staff offering particular skills and expertise. Specialist support services such as training, travel and payroll management are also part of the cluster. Collectively, these complement technical management as key service offerings.

Training Services

This cluster of services focuses on the provision of training solutions that both assess and build the capabilities of people who work at sea or in an office environment. These solutions are delivered through a variety of mediums including face to face/one-to-one engagement and computer based modules.

V.Ships Ukraine

V.Ships Odessa office has experience in Ukraine since 1990 and is one of the biggest Ukrainian crewing agencies in Ukraine, having branch offices in Kherson & Sevastopol. Annually more than 7000 of Ukrainian seafarers are employed onboard of V.Ships managed vessels.    

Along with recruiting & crewing services we are focused on in-house training provided for seafarers working onboard V.Ships managed vessels.  Our well experienced Training instructors ex-Captains and Chief Engineer constantly deliver various in-house courses such as Bridge Resource Management, ECDIS, Port State Control, Ship Security Awareness, Ship Security Officer, Pollution Prevention, English language, V.Ships Induction course, Vessel General Permit and a wide range of various Computer Based Trainings. In 2010 the company piloted a brand new Crew Resource Management course has been implemented in our Training Center.

Recently V.Ships Odessa Training Centre achieved a number of important ‘firsts’. They not only gained accreditation from the Maritime Administration of Ukraine for certain courses meeting revised STCW requirements, but also attained certification from Lloyds Register for the internal Quality Management System implemented within the Training Centre.

The certificates issued by V.Ships Ukraine for Bridge Team Resource Management (BTRM) and ECDIS courses will meet the internationally recognized standards required following recent Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping (STCW) amendments.

 V.Ships(Ukraine) currently has 210 cadet berths available for Ukrainian cadets and provided with onboard training more than 400 cadets annually. We interact closely with various maritime educational institutions across Ukraine – they are: Odessa National Maritime Academy, Odessa Maritime University, two colleges “Marinesko” & Technical Fleet in Odessa, branch of Maritime Academy in Izmail, Maritime Institute in Kherson and two maritime Institutions in Sevastopol. Today, V.Ships is the premier Company in Ukraine, training & providing Ukrainian Cadets with high standards of shipboard training and a reliable career path after graduation. As a fruitful result of the V.Ships Cadet Program we had got 94 cadets graduated joined us in junior officer’s rank and in 2009 the number increased up to 96 junior officers. Some ex-V.Ships cadets are already Masters and chief Engineers – a testimony to the long term commitment by V.Ships to career development and providing excellent opportunities such as Careers for Life.

All services we provide including training are free of charges for seafarers employed via V.Ships(Ukraine).
