V. Ships (Ukraine) cadet program & lady - cadets.

Several years ago V.Ships Ukraine ran a pilot project to try & test Ukrainian girl-cadets. We sponsored them on board our cargo ships. It is interesting to find out now which stage of their carrier they have reached with us.

So who are these brave ladies who have chosen such a male profession? We are glad to introduce them.

Juliya Malyovana – our ex-cadet, now she is making the 3rd contract as 2nd Officer. Juliya joined V.Ships (Ukraine) in the rank of deck-cadet in October 2006.

During studying in the Odessa Maritime Academy it was very difficult for Julia to find work at sea as a cadet due to absence of cadet training program for women. Fortunately V.Ships has this program. After completion of the 4th year in the Academy she was placed on board m/v Yeoman Bridge. And after successful ending of shipboard practice she was promoted to 3rd Officer position. Presently she is working in V.Ships as 2nd Officer for the Yeoman Group fleet.

Iryna Demeshkan – made a contract as a deck-cadet on board m/v Doceriver in 2008 receiving two promotions. This year she has received Officer-in-Charge of a navigation watch Certificate of Competency. Now she is on board of m/v Imbondeiro as 3rd Officer.

Litovchenko Ganna – a deck-cadet who also made a contract on board m/v Doceriver. She received good appraisals & promotions from both Masters. Ganna is a holder of Officer-in-Charge COC. She was approved as 3rd Officer and is joining m/v DP Polar in the nearest future.

Matayeva Isabella – is our junior representative of female-cadets. She is a fifth- year student of Odessa National Maritime Academy. In a week she is joining m/v Kestrel1 as a deck-cadet.

All aforesaid proves that women in our time are deserving competitors for a male human & they are able to cope with their job not worse than men do.
